The Mayor’s Fitness Council invites Corpus Christians of all fitness levels to register for the 5K Run/Walk Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Cole Park at 8:30am. The event will feature a Mayor Nelda Martinez look-alike contest, an elementary school running team challenge, and even a lounge at the two-mile mark for those who need to rest and recharge.
This is sure to be a fun-filled day! So register today for all the activities at www.ccmayorsfitnesscouncil.com. Proceeds from the event will go toward MCF Wellness Initiatives like new hike and bike trails, tobacco-free youth sports parks, community gardens, and more.
Don’t know how to prepare for a 5K? MFC Chairman Wade Spenst has your back. He’s implemented a “Couch to 5K” training program to get you ready for the run/walk. Simply visit http://www.ccmayorsfitnesscouncil.com/mayors-fitness-council-5k-challenge/ and print a copy of his workout and head out to train. OR join members of the MFC on Mondays at 7:00am or 6:00 pm at Cole Park (north parking lot)—they are all training for the event and would love some company!
If you’re interested in sponsoring this event, contact Stacie Talbert at StacieT@cctexas.com for information on sponsorship packages.
