There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon through this evening over much of South Texas. Daytime heating combining with a weak disturbance in northeast flow and extremely warm temperatures will provide a lot of instability this afternoon, generating thunderstorms. The concern for severe weather will begin to diminish after sunset once daytime heating ends and the atmosphere begins to slowly become more stable.

Today will be sunny dry and hot with a record high of 105.

Carrie Underwood will head to Boston on July 31st to take part in her first-ever CMA Songwriters Series at Royale in Boston’s Theatre District.  The singer will be joined by co-writers Brett James, Luke Laird, and Hillary Lindsey, who have all written some of Carrie’s biggest hits like “Last Name,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Temporary Home,” and her first-ever number one “Jesus Take The Wheel.” Is Billy Ray Cyrus headed to Broadway?  It’s true, according to USA Today.  The singer, actor, and father to Miley Cyrus will make his musical debut as “Billy Flynn,” the fast-talking lawyer in the long-running revival of Chicago later this year. Billy Ray’s Broadway run is slated from November 5th through December 23rd. Thompson Square is teaming up with Purina Dog Chow to spotlight their new Yorkie mix “Etta” and help raise money for Patriot Rovers, an organization that aims to “save dogs, help soldiers, and honor heroes.” Fans can visit Purina’s Facebook page to post pictures, stories, and videos, and check out exclusives with Shawna, Keifer, and little “Etta.”
