There is little change to the large upper level high that is dominating our South Texas weather the rest of this week. Expect the near record high heat and desert dry conditions to continue. In the tropics there is a disturbance in the central Atlantic moving slowly westward and is no threat to interests in the Gulf of Mexico.

Congratulations to Kenny Chesney who has the #1 song on the country charts this week, with his certified Gold hit “Come Over.” The song sold 500,000 copies within 9 weeks making it Kenny’s fastest Gold single certification. Little Big Town also has something to celebrate as their summertime anthem “Pontoon” has reached the Gold milestone as well. Sugarland received some exciting news, as the duo will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on October 14th. Country superstar Shania Twain is teaming up with CBS’ The Talk to give one couple an opportunity to renew their wedding vows in Las Vegas. The winning couple will also be given two tickets to Shania’s concert at the Colosseum in Ceasars Palace on December 12th.  Miranda Lambert was forced to cancel a few shows this past month due to an illness. The singer tells Country Weekly she is well and rested, and has “kinda been goin’ 90 to nothin’ and it caught up with her.”
